Dr. Elvis Rema
Director of Pain Management

Dr. Rema brings exceptional expertise in both anesthesiology and interventional pain management to Singular Anesthesia Services, where he has served as Staff Anesthesiologist since December 2024. His distinguished career combines academic excellence, clinical innovation, and specialized training in complex pain management procedures.

A graduate of St. George's University School of Medicine with Cum Laude honors, Dr. Rema completed his anesthesiology residency at The George Washington University Medical Center, where he served as Chief Resident and received the Herbert and Judy Weintraub Award for the highest in-training exam score. He furthered his expertise with a prestigious fellowship in Pain Management at Columbia University Medical Center/New York Presbyterian Hospital.

 

Dr. Rema's academic contributions are extensive, having served as Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine at The George Washington University and co-authoring multiple chapters in the acclaimed "Anesthesiology Core Review" textbook series. His research excellence is demonstrated by receiving the Burton S. Epstein Award for Outstanding Research and placing third in the District of Columbia Society of Anesthesiologists Academic Achievement Contest.

 

Board certified in both Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine by the American Board of Anesthesiology, Dr. Rema has maintained dual expertise throughout his career. His experience spans interventional pain management at Brain and Spine Surgeons of New York, academic medicine at George Washington University, and leadership roles in anesthesia services across multiple healthcare systems.

 

With his unique combination of anesthesia expertise, pain management specialization, academic leadership, and proven research capabilities, Dr. Rema continues to advance patient care through innovative approaches to perioperative medicine and chronic pain management.
